Brussels, Bruges and Budapest

Tuesday, 3 June 2014
I wanted to visit Bruges for a long time and maybe the reason I haven't seen it until now it's because is better to go there with the one person you care about the most. It really was a dream come true and to see it with him was even nicer.
Brussels is full of tourists and business man in suits. Full of mixed buildings of different architectural styles. I don't know if I ever seen a city before with such an architectural diversity. There were Art Noveau buldings next to Modern or Traditional Flemish ones. The churces are all incredibly beautiful even though today some of them are used for other purposes.. one was actually turned into a nightclub.
Bruges is full of tourists and ...almost no one else. Even though we wandered around a lot, even on the empty streets away from the city centre, we didn't see many of it's inhabitants. It was almost like all those Flemish houses were empty or their owners hidden away inside. The weather was almost perfect even though we were caught in the rain both in Brussels and in Bruges. But it was a nice and quick summer rain. Actually, it was quite fun and interesting to see all those tourists in the city plaza quickly looking for shelter. In a matter of seconds all the chattering groups of tourists were in cafes or under the trees.
I loved all the bicycles and boats, all the little restaurants and houses covered in red bricks. There is something about Bruges that is just special. Maybe it's the old buildings and the memories and emotions they evoke. That little town is surely worth seeing again someday :)

And our trip could not end better but at a Newsboys and Martin Smith concert. Yet another dream come true. Even though I have seen Budapest many times I still love the city each time I visit.
